What is Soundbloc?

Soundbloc is an advanced acoustic technology that can be integrated into our rugs. It minimises sound transmission between floors and rooms, and absorbs and dampens unwanted noise, thus making it ideal for high-traffic areas or places where silence is essential.

How does it work?

Soundbloc technology uses a multilayer structure, where specialised backing and fibres work together to absorb sound. The technology targets both airborne noise (such as voices) and impact noise (such as footsteps or falling objects), creating an acoustic barrier that improves privacy and reduces noise pollution.

Technical specifications:

Sound absorption: αW = 0.25 (tested according to EN ISO 354:2003). This means 25% of sound is effectively absorbed, contributing to fewer echoes and a more pleasant sound environment.
Impact sound insulation: ΔLw = 28 dB (measured according to EN ISO 10140-3:2015). This level of sound absorption significantly reduces the sound of footsteps and vibrations, ideal for multi-storey buildings.
